Hosting one or more students on site can open their eyes to the reality of what it is like in a variety of settings, industries and careers. We invite you to consider options such as:
Intern for a Day
Host a student for a one day job shadow opportunity to expose them to your organization and career field. In the 2016-2017 academic year, we placed almost 800 students with 400+ hosts in a wide variety of industries. This is a popular program with Terps!
Deadline to Register: Friday, September 8, 2017
Fields in high demand with our students through this program: healthcare, communication, law/legal affairs, public policy, non-profit, and social services (however, we welcome all fields!) Check out the below PDF for more details about Intern for a Day, including our process, benefits for you as a host organization, and tips on how a student can get the most out of his/her experience shadowing you for the day. Email firstname.lastname@example.org if you have additional questions or check out this quick guide.
Career Shuttles/Site Visits
We are always looking for interesting sites to bring a group of students and faculty/staff to visit. During these tours, the host employer typically arranges a tour and opportunities to hear firsthand from current employees, including interns, about their roles. If interested, please contact Allynn Powell.
