Intern for a Day Lite: Mandatory Student Orientation Now Open
The University Career Center's popular Intern for a Day program has historically connected UMD students with alumni, parents, and employers for in-person job shadowing experiences to explore potential career fields.
Due to COVID-19, for the fall 2020 semester we are offering Intern for a Day Lite which will match UMD students with professionals working in a field of interest to conduct virtual informational interviews. "Hosts" can live and work anywhere nationally and internationally. This re-imagined program takes the “cold calling” out of informational interviews and networking for students!
How it Works:
1. Visit go.umd.edu/ifad to review the list of professionals available for an informational interview.
2. Complete a mandatory 20-minute online orientation to prepare for the informational interview. Students can request access to the orientation through go.umd.edu/IFAD and complete the orientation any time between Monday, October 5 through Sunday, October 11.
3. Students who complete the mandatory orientation will receive a link to the Intern for a Day Lite application on Monday, October 12, 2020. Applications will be due by Sunday, October 18 at 11:59pm.
More information about the program can be found at go.umd.edu/IFAD.
