FAIR DETAILS
The University of Maryland is a nationally ranked Division I research university and the flagship institution of the University System of Maryland.

Our 2018 Fall Career & Internship Fair kicks off our fall recruiting season and offers the opportunity to interact with thousands of talented Terps from all majors, seeking full-time and internships positions. As one of the largest fairs conducted on campus and in our region, we encourage interested employers to register early!

The Fall Career & Internship Fair will take place over the course of two consecutive days:

Wednesday, September 12, 2018 12 p.m.-5 p.m.    - AT CAPACITY
Focus:Engineering/STEM: This day will feature STEM-related positions and students

Thursday, September 13, 2018 12 p.m.-5 p.m.
Focus: Engineering/STEM AND All other industries. This day will continue to feature STEM-related positions, and will also include opportunities for all majors                      

Please Note: Both days of the fair are open to ALL University of Maryland students and alumni.

Fair Schedule
9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. | Employer Arrival and set-up (coffee & tea provided in Heritage Hall)
11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. | Lunch available in Heritage Hall
12:00 p.m. | Fair begins 
5:00 p.m. | Fair ends

Wireless Information
Wireless access will be available to all participating employers. Access information will be provided on the day of the fair

*A $100 fee will be assessed for any additional representatives above the stated limit.

Each Package includes:

    • 8'x8' booth space with 3'x6' table and chairs (Double Booth: 8'x18' space with 2 tables and chairs)
    • Morning refreshments, Buffet Lunch and afternoon refreshments 
    • Wireless access
    • Access to an electrical outlet (if requested)
    • Standard marketing: Fair booklet and App inclusion; booth signage and promotion on our Center website

Please Note: Booths are assigned only when payment or proof-of-payment-forthcoming is received.

Electricity
Employers who requested electricity for their booth are asked to bring a 25-50 foot extension cord to the fair.

Deadline for shipping materials through Advantage


Cancellation Policy:
 
Our cancellation deadline was Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at 11:59 p.m. EST to receive a full refund and not owe a fair registration balance. 

From this point forward, all employers will remain responsible for payment and no refunds will be administered. Employers who do not show up to the fair will also remain responsible for payment. 

All cancellations must be submitted in writing via email to Allynn Powell at acpowell@umd.edu. Failure to cancel in writing by the cancellation deadline will leave the employer responsible for the registration fee, regardless of circumstances.

If we have to cancel the fair for weather related or other reasons, a credit will be given for a future fair. 


PAYMENT INFORMATION:
Your organization’s invoice will be attached to your fair confirmation email. Payment by check or credit card will be received.

  • To pay via check, send payment to:

  • To pay via credit card, visit the secure processing website listed on your invoice to make payment. You will need the invoice number and career fair name to complete the payment process. Fill in all required information for payment processing.

Once the credit card payment has been successfully processed you will be e-mailed a statement to that effect. A second e-mail will be sent within the next ten business days reflecting your payment and providing you with a zero balance receipt. 


FAIR SPONSORSHIP

SHIPPING FAIR MATERIALS:
The shipping of booth materials will be handled by Advantage Expo and Tradeshow. Employers desiring to ship materials to the fair should contact Advantage to schedule pickup and delivery. Please do not ship directly to XFINITY or the career center. If you would like Advantage Expo to ship your materials back to your organization following the fair, you can leave them at your booth with the completed Advantage shipping form or complete a shipping form with them on-site at the end of the fair.

The shipping kit provides a comprehensive overview of the shipping timelines and rates, as well as options to upgrade your booth:

A representative from Advantage will be available to assist you with any shipping questions at 4:00 p.m.


PARKING:

Print Parking Permit & Map
Given the anticipated Purple Line construction, parking on campus will be very limited. PLEASE take time to read the options available to employers attending the career fair.

If taking Uber or Lyft to campus is a possibility, we encourage such. You can use Xfinity Center (8500 Paint Branch Drive) as your drop office address. Enter the building through Gate C. 

Campus is accessible off of the Metro. Take the Green line to the College Park Metro Station. The campus shuttle 104 loops from the metro station to campus. 

If driving to campus, we highly recommend arriving early and trying to carpool with others from your organization to limit the number of cars. 

Booth Materials Drop-Off
All employers will be encouraged to drive to the Xfinity Loading dock to drop off their booth materials. Volunteer staff will be on hand to greet you and take your things to your table. 
You will then be directed to one of two available parking lots.

There will be two parking options available:

  • Xfinity Center Visitors Lot  - 120 spots
    The Xfinity Visitors Lot is located off of Paint Branch Drive.
    Ensure your parking permit is visible on the dash. A parking attendant will greet you at the entrance. Once parked, take the sidewalk along the practice field towards the Xfinity Center. Enter the building through Gate C. Representatives will be on hand to show you to your booth.  
  • Regents Garage Visitors Parking - 340 spots
    The location of Regents Drive Garage can be via Google maps at https://goo.gl/maps/zknXGhUxFAL2 . 
    A parking attendant will greet you at the entrance of the garage. Once inside the garage, follow the signs to the Visitors parking on the roof level.  Ensure your parking permit is visible on the dash.

There will be shuttle buses available to transport employers from Regents Drive to the Xfinity Center, located outside of the garage on Regents Dr., between Fieldhouse and Stadium Drives. 
The shuttle will drop off employers at the front of the Xfinity Center and employers can enter the building through Gate C. Representatives will be on hand to show you to your booth.

Please print the attached PARKING PERMIT and Map and have on your dashboard for parking at the fair.
