How to be Career Ready as a Student of Color

Are you a student who identifies as Black, Indigenous, Latinx, or a Person of Color (BIPOC)? This workshop is designed to provide targeted support for students of color as you build your future career.

In this session we will discuss:

  1. How to assess and highlight your unique strengths, skills and experiences to employers and to effectively showcase your potential contributions.
     
  2. Strategies to assess a company/organization's climate and culture, including access to Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), researching leadership racial demographics, determining opportunities for mentorship, and sample questions to ask in an interview for more insight.
     
  3. Special internship programs and professional development opportunities built for students of color to provide opportunities for career exposure and experience.
     
  4. Strategies to overcome potential challenges related to bias or discrimination in the workplace.
