Location: University Career Center, 3100 Hornbake Library South Wing
Join the University Career Center for an interactive workshop designed to help students build confidence and strengthen practical networking skills for career exploration and professional growth. Students will learn strategies for introducing themselves, starting and maintaining meaningful conversations, and approaching networking in a way that feels authentic and approachable. The session will also cover how to identify people to connect with, follow up after networking events, and maintain professional relationships over time. Students will leave with practical tools to expand their network and take the next step in their career development.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the workshop, students will be able to:
- Develop and practice a clear, confident introduction for networking conversations.
- Use strategies and questions to start conversations and keep them going.
- Identify individuals and communities they can connect with for career insight and professional growth.
- Apply effective follow-up techniques after networking events, including outreach and thank-you messages.
