The Career Center, CS Department and CMNS Alumni Network are joining forces to give you an exclusive look behind the curtain of tech hiring. Join us for this revamped, high-impact prep session designed to get you ready for the Spring Career and Internship Fairs hosted by the CS Department and the University Career Center.  

This is more than a workshop—it’s an interactive "Industry Verdict" session where you’ll hear directly from tech recruiters and CMNS alumni, polish your elevator pitch, and practice your networking skills – and there will be food!

• The "Industry Verdict": Our Program Director will cover the fundamentals of Fair success, while tech recruiters and alumni chime in with the "industry verdict" on what actually works in the real world.
• Alumni Connections: Build your network with CMNS graduates who have successfully navigated the tech hiring landscape and are ready to share their insider advice.
• Live Pitch Practice: No more "winging it." You’ll participate in guided activities to sharpen your elevator pitch until it feels natural.
• Strolling Networking Reception: Put your new skills to the test immediately. Enjoy refreshments while practicing your networking in a communal setting with fellow Science Terps, featuring our CMNS Alumni Network!

• Time: 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM
• Location: Iribe Center Lobby Ampitheater

Target: Students interested in Tech, Computer Science, and Data roles.

Pro Tip: This event happens right after the CS Resume Review (4:00–6:00 PM). Get your resume checked in the afternoon, then join us at 6:00 PM to learn how to pitch yourself to your dream company!

Event Structure:

• 6:00 PM Student Check-in
• Arrive in the Iribe Center Lobby to check-in and get ready for an action-packed session.

• 6:15 PM The “Industry Verdict”
• Fast-paced workshop on fair strategy with our Career Center team and live feedback from tech experts.

• 6:45 PM Networking & Pitch Practice
• Guided pitch activities followed by refreshments and networking with CMNS Alumni with professional experience in tech.
