The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia invites you to join us for our Day at the Fed event on Friday, October 21. This year’s program will be hybrid. We are happy to welcome the first 50 students to join us in person at the Fed. We will also stream this event live, allowing additional students the opportunity to join virtually on the Teams platform. (If you do not have the Teams desktop application, you can join via web browser.)

You will have the opportunity to learn about what the Fed does and the varied opportunities available at the Fed. While this is not a recruiting event, it is a unique opportunity to gain insight into the Federal Reserve Bank. Our president, Patrick Harker, will kick off the event and answer any questions submitted prior to the live event. Additionally, we look forward to discussing the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion at our institution.

Several key departments at the Fed will provide insights into career paths for students majoring in economics or finance. Representatives from our Research Department; Consumer Finance Institute; Supervision, Regulation, and Credit Department; and Community Development and Regional Outreach Department will talk about their educational paths and career journeys and the important work that each department does for consumers, employers, and banks in our community. You will also hear about our new Information Technology Apprenticeship Program.

This year, we are excited to welcome LaVaughn Henry, representing the National Association for Business Economists (NABE). He will speak about what NABE is, how to become a student member, and scholarships provided by NABE.

At the conclusion of the program, Henry and representatives from the Fed departments will be available for additional questions and conversations with you. Both in-person and virtual participants can take part in these discussion groups. Don’t forget to include any questions you have for President Harker to answer during his presentation. We look forward to seeing you!
