Peace Corps at the State Department -- How to Join

Returned Peace Corps Volunteers Make the BEST Diplomats

Join us for an Information Session on Tuesday, May 3, starting at 4:00 p.m. EDT.  

The run-of-show will be as follows:

• 30 minutes: Panel discussion with RPCVs describing their experience at the U.S. Department of State (Foreign Service, Civil Service, and Consular Fellows Program panelists)
• 15 minutes: On the process of applying for FS, CS, CFP (focusing on the Non-Competitive Eligibility for Civil Service opportunities)
• 5 minutes: On Fellowship opportunities 
• 20-40 minutes: Break out room access on specific topics, also allowing for rotating small group chats.  These rooms are expected to include:
  • Foreign Service Officer (Generalist)
  • Foreign Service Specialists (STEM careers - with relevant bureau recruiters)
  • Foreign Service Specialists (Administrative)
  • Fellowships and Scholarships
  • Consular Fellows Program
  • Civil Service
