Careers4Terps (C4T) is the Center’s online career management tool for University of Maryland students and alumni. C4T can be accessed online or through the app store.

C4T Functions for Students

Employers specifically seeking UMD students use C4T to post full-time, internship and part-time positions.  You can search by industry, job function, geographic location, major, and other criteria.  Use the system’s job alert feature to receive notifications of new postings matching your interests. (insert table of industries + description, ex: accordion 3)

Virtual and in-person appointments with career advisors are scheduled through the C4T system.  Search for a specific advisor or a time matching your availability.

Claim a seat at a wide variety of career workshops and employer events through your C4T account.  Learn more about our events.

Customize your C4T profile to indicate your academic information and career interest areas - this will allow the system to push relevant opportunities to you. You can also decide to opt into resume books or make your resumes viewable to employers. 

Upload and store up to 25 customized resumes, cover letters, and other job search documents for use with online applications.

Employers coordinate with the Career Center to host interviews with UMD for entry-level jobs and internships.  Interview applications and scheduled interview slots are managed through C4T.

Use C4T to access the Center’s exclusive career exploration and job search tools (see Student Resources page), which include:

  • FOCUS 2: Major/career exploration self-assessments
  • InterviewStream: Practice mock interviews virtually 
  • Firsthand/Vault: Employer/Industry guides. Must access through Careers4Terps to access the UMD subscription. 
  • GoinGlobal: Country career guides, international resources for students working/studying abroad 

Common FAQ for Students

You can access Careers4Terps from every page of our website via the link on the top right corner. Use your UMD Directory ID and password (that you use for other campus functions) to log into the system. If after attempting this you still experience difficulty, contact us at ucc-studenthelp@umd.edu or 301-314-7225.

Login to your Careers4Terps account and click on the Counseling Appointments tab on the left navigation bar. Under the Approved Appointments column, click on the three dots to cancel or reschedule your appointment.

C4T Functions for Employers

Registration is simple and posting is free of charge! For assistance on setting up a Careers4Terps account, review this guide.

Once you register and are approved as an employer, you can begin posting your organization’s opportunities within Careers4Terps. For assistance posting positions, review this guide. We aim to approve job postings within 2 business days.

Registration for UMD career fairs takes place within Careers4Terps. Review the list of upcoming career fairs and their registration details.

Guidance for virtual career fair registration: 

We utilize Careers4Terps to market employer events to the UMD student population. If interested in hosting your own virtual or in-person event or participating in one of ours, review our events page (link to events page) for more details. Once confirmed, you’ll be able to view the details of your event within the system.

Both in-person and virtual interviews can be arranged via Careers4Terps with UMD students. If your team would like support advertising a position, collecting resumes or getting candidates scheduled, review our Interview candidates website page.

Careers4Terps offers employers who have active positions in the system the option to browse resumes of students who have opted in to have their resumes shared with employers. Resume books allow you to search candidates by major, year in school, or keywords. Learn more about Resume Books and how to gain access on our Resume Book page.

Posting a Full-time job or Internship 

Posting a short-term local, part-time job

  • The University Career Center partners with QuadJobs, an online platform connecting college students with local flexible part-time or one-time jobs in support of individuals or local businesses. Some of the types of roles best suited for QuadJobs include, but are not limited to childcare, dog-walking, tutoring, house work, etc. Register and post on QuadJobs.

Log into Careers4Terps and click on the “Account” tab. If you have questions, email ucc-recruiting@umd.edu

Resume book access is available to employers who have an active position within Careers4Terps. Learn more and request access to resume books via email to ucc-recruiting@umd.edu. Third-Party Recruiters will not be provided resume book access.

Log into Careers4Terps and update posting details or adjust the deadline date under the “Job Posting” tab. 

C4T Functions for Alumni

Employers specifically seeking UMD alumni use C4T to post full-time, internship and part-time positions.  You can search by industry, job function, geographic location, major, and other criteria.  Use the system’s job alert feature to receive notifications of new postings matching your interests.

Alumni within one year of graduation can schedule virtual and in-person appointments with career advisors through Careers4Terps. Alumni more than one year out have access to a brief consultation and a wide variety of resources available via the Alumni Association.
