John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts (Theater for Young Audiences): February 2 at 3 pm.
Kennedy Center Theater for Young Audiences develops, presents, produces, and tours new work for young people. We hire for a number of early career positions on our productions, including interns, design assistants, production assistants, assistant directors, and other assistants to creative team members. We also do a virtual Open Call audition series, where we have the opportunity to meet and hear from actors who are new to us. Dates for the 2022 Open Calls will be announced soon.

The Allen Lee Hughes BIPOC Fellowship Program is restarting after the pandemic for the 2022/23 season and reclaiming its roots as a professional training program for individuals who self-identify as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color). Available fellowships in: Artistic, Development, General and Company Management, Graphic Design, Leadership and Business, Marketing, Media Relations, Patron Services, Community Programs, School Programs, Costumes and Lighting.

EDUCATION APPRENTICE: This position is designed to help an individual learn and deepen their skills in teaching artistry and arts administration. Working and learning part-time with Everyman Theatre, this candidate will explore skills necessary to the freelance teaching artist from time management to interpersonal communication. This solo Apprentice’s journey is crafted through the individualized attention to goals and outcomes in our profession. This position is ideal for a focused and passionate young professional seeking a next-level experience in teaching theatre and arts administration. The Education Apprenticeship is a forty-one week commitment from approximately the end of August through the beginning of June. During the forty-one weeks, the Apprentice will have an eight week immersion period. This period features more hours per week in order to orient the Apprentice to the wide range of programming we offer. The balance of the Apprenticeship is a part-time commitment (approximately 20 hours per week) for thirty-three weeks. The Apprenticeship includes employee benefits of 40 hours of paid vacation and designated sick leave. Ideal candidates are energetic and proactive; open-to-growth; able to integrate and retain new information; have an affinity for how theatre connects to lifelong-learning, and share a passion for youth. This apprenticeship is a good fit for a recent graduate or career-changer who is eager to pursue a career in theatre education, arts administration, and/or theatre.
INTERNS: The Internships through Education offer tailored experiences under the departments of Marketing, Development, and Education (Teaching)**. Each internship experience has the goal of creating and supporting dynamic learning opportunities through project-based learning, in a cohort model, during the Summer months. This is a semester-long part-time position. Designed to help individuals learn, grow, and contribute to their field of interest. **subject to change
Studio A, February 7 at 1 pm.
Studio A is an interactive center encouraging the self-expression and self-development of the UMD community. We offer a creative outlet for students, faculty/staff, and community members via non-credit courses in the arts. Through our weekly classes and frequent workshops, we provide the opportunity to learn new skills, explore a topic, or pursue a creative passion. This Summer Studio A will be offering summer art camps for children ages 6-12 during the month of July and is looking for counselors who can work from 8:30-5pm, Monday through Friday for the month. Studio A also hires instructors in a variety of creative fields and desk staff members interested in learning about and working in arts administration for the academic year.

EducArte: February 8 at 2 pm.
Interns will learn the “business side” of the arts sector. Successful arts organizations, productions, and engagements require a good deal of planning, execution, and community building. Through EducArte’s internship programs, interns will gain an understanding of how to market arts education, engage with artists and the public, and navigate the non-profit arts sector. We are seeking to fill marketing and graphic/media design internships to support our young arts education non-profit organization. We would like to meet students who are organized and proactive.

We are looking for education and arts administration fellows for the summer, as well as artistic, arts administration, and production fellows for the 2022-23 season. We will also be looking for summer teaching artists. *This session will be more of an open chat with representatives from Arts on the Horizon. Please pop in as your schedule allows!

Shakespeare Theatre Company Virtual Information Session, February 11, 2-3 pm
Shakespeare Theatre Company is looking for Student Teachers to assist our summer Engagement and Education program: Camp Shakespeare, and Fellows (administrative and production) for the 2022/23. Both positions are part-time and will be paid an hourly wage. Associate Director of Engagement and Education will be available to share information about both programs and the application process.
