2026 Maryland Metropolitan Education Expo
The Maryland Metropolitan Education Expo (MMEE) is a one-day recruitment event that connects school systems and education organizations with exceptional candidates pursuing careers in the education field. The Expo welcomes University of Maryland students and alumni, as well as candidates from local colleges and universities who are passionate about making an impact in education.
Overview
Date: Wednesday, February 18, 2026
Time: 9:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Location: Stamp Student Union, Grand Ballroom
MMEE is comprised of two parts:
- 9:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.: Career Fair
- The Expo begins with an opportunity for candidates to meet and network with school recruiters to learn more about school systems and organizations.
- 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.: On-Site Screening Interviews
- The Expo provides school systems and organizations with the opportunity to interview candidates for anticipated vacancies. Organizations not planning to conduct interviews will have the option of participating only in the Career Fair portion of the event.
- 8:30 a.m. - 9:15 a.m.: Employer Arrival and Setup
- 9:30 a.m. - 12 p.m.: Career Fair - Networking
- 12 p.m. - 1 p.m.: Lunch Break
- 1 p.m. - 5 p.m.: On-Site Interviews
Career Fair + On-Site Interviews:
- For Profit: $350
- School District: $300
- NonProfit Organizations (Summer camps, etc.): $200
- UMD Campus Office: No cost for the first two representatives
Registration package includes 1 table and 2 representatives; for interviews, it would allow for 2 interview schedules (8 students/schedule).
Additional tables are available for purchase on the registration form for $150 each.

- Wednesday, February 4, 2026: Payment and Cancellation deadline
*All organizations may sign up candidates for interviews on the day of the event. However, we do provide early access to review and select UMD candidates for interviews in advance of the event.
While the University Career Center will not provide the option for employers to coordinate interview schedules using Handshake this year, employers opting to host on-site interviews on the afternoon of the Expo will have the option of managing their own interview schedules by:
- Scheduling candidates in advance of the MMEE Expo by reviewing the MMEE 2026 Resume Book, which will be shared by Monday, Feb 9.
AND/OR
- Employers may invite candidates of interest to to schedule 20-minute interviews on-site during the morning session of the Expo.
Important Dates:
- Monday, November 17: Employer registration opens in Handshake
- Monday, January 12 - Sunday, February 8: Students/alumni submit their resume to the MMEE 2025 Resume Book
- Monday, February 9: MMEE 2026 Resume Book sent to School Systems/Nonprofits for review
- Tuesday, February 10 - 17 (OPTIONAL): Employers correspond directly with preferred candidates to build their interview schedule for afternoon on-site interviews.
- Wed, February 18 9:30-12:00pm: MMEE Career Fair Interact with interested candidates. Sign them up for 20-min interviews, if participating in afternoon session.
- Wed, February 19 1:00-5:00pm: Participating employers will conduct 20-minute candidate interviews. This allows each recruiter to interview 8 candidates between 1 pm and 5 pm. The schedule will begin with the first interview from 1 -1:20 pm. We will allow a 10-minute transition period (5 minutes for candidates to exit the space and another 5 minutes for the next interviewees to get settled), and then the next interview will begin at 1:30. Career Center staff will manage the interview transitions.

- Opportunity to include organization's logo in printed fair booklet
- Opportunity to participate in a Fair Preparation event (workshop or resume reviews)
