Volunteer to Support Students
As an employer, your connections with our students can make a lasting impression. We offer a variety of different ways to connect with our talented Terps. Through volunteer and educational programs, you can share your own career journey, pivotal learning experiences, industry tips, and general feedback. These options help to brand your organization, can lead to lasting connections with future talent, and ultimately support the development of UMD students.

Career Course Assistance
Throughout the Fall 2025 semester, we're calling on employers, UMD alumni, and campus partners to assist in conducting virtual resume reviews and mock interviews via Zoom. These sessions engage over 300 students from our 1-credit career courses: PSYC123: The Psychology of Getting Hired and EDCP108i: Academic Transitions to Internships.
Interested in volunteering? Complete the form below to sign up for your preferred day(s) and time(s). Please ensure your calendar is blocked for your chosen slots, as your submission registers you as a volunteer. Informational materials will be provided.
Options Available:
- Resume Reviews
- Mock Interviews
Feel free to sign up for one or both options and multiple time slots. All sessions are virtual, and Zoom links will be sent in a confirmation email.
Contact: Erica Ely (Assistant Director-Career Education & Exposure, eely@umd.edu) will confirm your volunteering schedule at least two weeks prior and provide any necessary details and informational materials.
Intern For A Day
Intern for a Day connects current undergraduate students with alumni, parents, and employers for in-person job shadowing or virtual informational interviewing experiences to explore potential career fields. We typically place 300-400 students with professionals each semester!
Our Host Guide features information about the purpose of the program as well as information that can support you as you plan to host UMD students for job shadowing opportunities.
To express interest in hosting one or more UMD undergraduate students through the Intern for a Day program, please complete this form and the Intern for a Day team will be in touch when registration opens for the next semester.
