Volunteer to Support Students
As an employer, your connections with our students can make a lasting impression. We offer a variety of different ways to connect with our talented Terps. Through volunteer and educational programs, you can share your own career journey, pivotal learning experiences, industry tips and general feedback. These options help to brand your organization, can lead to lasting connections with future talent and ultimately support the development of UMD students.
Fall 2022 Volunteer Opportunities
Career Fair Prep Resume Reviews
Prior to our all-campus career fairs each semester, we host a week of virtual resume reviews to help students prepare for their interactions with potential employers. Employer/alumni volunteers are invited to assist us in providing this critical feedback to students.
Interested? Email our Employer Relations team at firstname.lastname@example.org with the following:
- Your preferred date(s) from the list above when you're available from 12-2pm for 20 minute resume reviews.
- Your preferred virtual meeting link like a personal Zoom room, etc.
- If you prefer to conduct general or technical resume reviews.
Students will sign-up for a time-slot and the morning of the resume reviews, and a member of our team will email you the names of the students who are registered to meet with you so you know who to expect.
Career Course Assistance
Employer/alumni partners are invited to volunteer to support the 600+ students registered in the University Career Center's two 1-credit career courses, with two live virtual experiences: (1) a resume review and (2) a mock interview. The two courses are PSYC123: The Psychology of Getting Hired and EDCP108i: Academic Transitions to Internships (for students seeking their first internship experience).
